Brendan Mooney, Chief Executive Officer, Kainos Software plcBrendan Mooney

Brendan is the CEO of Kainos responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company and for overseeing profitable growth. 

He studied Computer Science at University of Ulster, Jordanstown and was awarded an honorary Doctorate (DSc.) for services to business development.

Brendan joined Kainos in 1989 as a graduate software engineer before moving into a number of technical and commercial roles. He was appointed Managing Director of Kainos in 2001. In addition to his role at Kainos, Brendan has been a Non-Executive Director at Meridio, Property News and the Probation Service for Northern Ireland and until recently, was a serving lay magistrate. Brendan has over 25 years’ of technical, business development and management experience.

Steve Orr
Steve Orr, Director, NISP CONNECT

Steve is responsible for the overall development and delivery of NISP CONNECT.

Steve graduated from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 1994 with a degree in Business Information Technology. For the following six years Steve worked in Buckinghamshire, San Diego and San Francisco for S.Com Ltd and S.Com Inc. In 2000, Steve co-founded Kineticom, Inc a San Diego, California based technical talent firm. In 2006 Kineticom was ranked #33 on the Inc 500, the list of the fastest growing privately held companies in the US.

Bored with perfect weather and missing the craic, Steve has now returned to his roots and hopes to focus the rest of his career on helping to create an advantage for new ventures and entrepreneurs from Northern Ireland.​

Jamie Andrews
Jamie Andrews, Investment Director at Pentech Ventures LLP and Manager at techstart NI​

Jamie Andrews is an Investment Director with Pentech Ventures LLP and Manager of techstartNI. Pentech is one of the UK's leading technology investors, with offices in Edinburgh, London and Belfast.

Jamie has significant operational and commercial experience within VC-backed businesses, having helped raise over $50m for early stage companies. 

He was previously Financial Controller of BSkyB New Media. Following the £1.5 billion acquisition of Interactive TV by BSkyB in 2001, he joined Lagan Technologies as CFO, where he helped the company grow from £0.5m to over £15m in revenues. 

He then moved to San Francisco to join RainStor, a VC-backed big data Company as COO, taking it to a trade sale in late 2014 before joining the Pentech team.
