Opening an account

Opening an account with us is much more convenient now that you have the option to apply online or by phone on 0800 66 00 33.

We will give you information about our range of current accounts to help you choose one which meets your needs.

You are also welcome to visit or call one of our branches or read more about how to become a customer.

Once you open your account

Once you have opened your account, we will give you everything you need to use it (if appropriate and depending on your circumstances), as shown below.

After two to three days

  • A letter giving you your account number and user ID for eBanking

After five to 10 days

  • A Debit MasterCard
  • A Debit MasterCard​ PIN
  • A MasterCard credit card
  • A MasterCard PIN
  • Your eBanking PIN
  • A chequebook

These timescales are a guideline and, for security reasons, we will send you each item separately.​​​​

Lines are open between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 4.30pm Saturdays (not including bank holidays or other holidays in Northern Ireland when the bank is not open for business).  Call charges may vary. Please contact your phone company for more details.  We may record or monitor calls for your protection, to train our staff and to maintain the quality of our ongoing service.
