Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Important Information about compensation arrangements for Depositors

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), the UK's deposit guarantee scheme. The FSCS can pay compensation to depositors if a bank is unable to meet its financial obligations.

Your eligible deposits with us are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the FSCS. Any deposits you hold above the £85,000 limit are unlikely to be covered. Please see the FSCS Information Sheet and Exclusions List PDF.

FSCS Eligibility

The provisions in the Depositor Protection Part of the Prudential Regulation Authority’s Rulebook determine whether a deposit is an eligible deposit. The Exclusions List sets out those deposits which are excluded from protection.

If your account is not eligible for compensation under the FSCS and the Bank becomes insolvent you will still be able to make a claim as a creditor under the relevant insolvency legislation.
