Where can I use Apple Pay?
You can use Apple Pay to make contactless payments wherever you see one of the below symbols.
How do I make a payment with Apple Pay?
Hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. On Apple Watch, just double-click the side button and hold the display of your Apple Watch up to the contactless reader.
To pay within apps on iPhone 6/6+ and later models including the iPhone SE, or your iPad with Touch ID, just select Apple Pay as the payment method and place your finger on Touch ID
Does Apple Pay Passbook/Wallet app show my recent payments?
Yes, for each Danske debit or credit card, you’ll be able to see the last 10 payments made using Apple Pay on that device. Then all your card payments will still appear on your bank or credit card statement in the usual way.
Depending on how a refund was processed the payment may not show in Wallet, however it will always be visible in your bank statements.
Can I use Apple Pay when I’m abroad?
All retailers who accept contactless payments will accept Apple Pay whether they’re in the UK or overseas. Different payment limits will apply depending on which country you’re in. If you use Apple Pay to pay with a card overseas, standard overseas charges will apply according to your card terms and conditions. Based on your mobile plan and mobile network's offering, additional message data charges and foreign payment fees may also apply.
Can I restrict Apple Pay when I’m abroad?
Geoblocking is a security feature which is available on all Danske Bank personal debit and credit cards. It allows cardholders to restrict the use of their card(s) to certain geographic areas or to prevent the use of the card for internet payments, reducing the likelihood of fraud.
You can easily manage the Geoblocking settings on your debit and credit card(s) in eBanking, Mobile and Tablet Banking Apps. Alternatively you can contact the Bank on 028 90049221 or ask an Adviser in any branch. Changes are made with immediate effect.
Why does my iPhone show “Done” when the Retailer advised me that the payment has not been successful?
Your iPhone will always show “Done” when your handset is recognised by a retailer’s terminal, but this does not necessarily mean the payment has been approved.
The terminal may decline the payment because, for example, you have insufficient funds or the terminal you are trying to make the payment through is offline.
If this happens, use your actual debit or credit card to try and process the payment.
How do I change the default payment card to my Danske Bank card?
The first card you add to the Wallet will become your default card. To change your default card follow the steps below.
On your iPhone:
- Open Wallet
- Touch and hold your finger on the card that you want to make the default card.
- Drag the card to the front of the cards in the Apple Pay section
- That's it! Unless you manually change the card you're using when making a purchase, the selected card will always be used
On your iPad:
- Go to Settings>Wallet & Apple Pay
- Tap Default Card
- Choose the new card
