Non-Sterling Transaction Fee (credit and debit cards)

The Danske Bank Card Exchange Rate (UK) for the relevant currency will be adjusted by adding a Non-Sterling Transaction Fee of 2.75% of the value of the transaction. The adjusted rate will be the rate that appears on your statement. You will also see the amount of the Non-Sterling Transaction Fee for each transaction.

Dynamic Currency Conversion

Some merchants or cash machine operators will give you the choice of paying in sterling rather than the local currency (this is known as dynamic currency conversion). If you choose this option the merchant or cash machine operator will carry out the conversion from the local currency into sterling using their own rate of exchange. You should always be advised what exchange rate is being used by the merchant or cash machine operator and you need to consider whether that rate is acceptable to you. The merchant or cash machine operator may also impose other charges. Choosing this option can work out more expensive than paying in the local currency.

If you do choose to pay in sterling rather than the local currency then a sterling transaction will be debited to your account and no non-sterling fees will be applied by us, but a cash fee will still apply for any Cash Advances made using a credit card.
